Maura Clare Wingo Snow, 88, beloved daughter of James Guerrero Wingo and Edna Mae Scott Wingo, passed away peacefully with Sherwood Moore by her bedside to her next life on April 23, 2022.

Born and raised in Washington, DC, Maura’s life of travel and a whole new adventurous world began after her marriage with Richard Currier Snow, Sr. (former spouse). Prior to moving to King George, VA, Maura made beautiful memories of family travels across the United States included living in Japan, the Pacific Island Midway, and trips to Europe.

Sherwood Moore, her long-term companion, shared many years by her side in their real estate career which over time transformed into quieter demands like sitting in their car by the water in Colonial Beach feeding bread to the seagulls.

After retiring, she lived a quiet simple life taking care of her loved ones especially Dorothy and Charles Cohen during their end of life years.

Maura’s greatest treasure was her family. Catholic Mother of Laura Snow Yarus (Harvey), the late Richard C Snow, Jr (Julia), Conrad James Snow (Ana), Jonathan Whitmore Snow (Tonya), and Christopher Edwin Snow (Sarah). Grandchildren Charles Yarus, Maura Yarus Rawlette (Drexel), Daniel Snow (Carrie, fiancée), Thomas Snow, Clara Snow, Joseph Snow, Angelina Snow, Ryan Snow, Mark Snow, Kyle Snow, and Cory Snow. Two great-grandchildren Devin and Alexander.

Maura was proceeded in death by her brothers James & Walter Wingo and eldest son, Richard Snow, Jr.  Never was there a doubt that our Mother, a Grandmother, and a Great Granny, loved us and we loved her. Words cannot contain our heartfelt loss.  “We Love You MaMa”, See you soon…

A Requiem Mass will be held at 9 am on Monday, May 2 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, King George.  Burial to follow at Historyland Memorial Park.
