Rebecca “Becky” Jane Richards Spence-Brown, 66, of Colonial Beach, VA passed away Friday, February 18, 2022 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. Becky was born Saturday, January 7, 1956 in West Virginia to Robert Earl Richards and Stella Marie Howard Richards.

Becky graduated from Friendly High School in Friendly, Maryland in 1974. She later attended Valencia Community College in Kissimmee, Florida and received her nursing degree as a Registered Nurse in 1992. Becky worked as a nurse in and around the community until she retired in 2007. She also spent much of her time volunteering at the local food pantry and was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church since 2011.

Becky married Charles Daryl Brown in 2009, who she leaves behind to cherish her memory. She also leaves behind her mother, two children, Stephen Eric Spence and Kelly Jae Rhoades, and five grandchildren, Stephen Tyson Spence, Nathen Charles Spence, Carolyn Jane Spence, Jack Anthony Verhalen and Jace Alexander Verhalen; and brother David Richards.

Becky was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonia Marie Garvie, her sister, Carol Anne Tate, and her father Robert Earl Richards.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 8096 Leedstown Rd, Colonial Beach, VA 22443.
