Mitch Jones was our UPS driver for 25+ years, and he was our friend. I never heard Mitch say anything negative about anyone - he was always positive. During the intense weeks before Christmas, sometimes we wouldn't see Mitch until after dark, but I never heard him complain about the long hours. When we lost our canine friend of 11 years, we adopted a terrier mix puppy in 2020 that we named Boomer. The first time Mitch met him, Boomer hadn't yet developed bladder control. Mitch scooped him up and loved on him. Boomer couldn't contain himself, and gave a little squirt right on Mitch's island-sized paws. I apologized profusely, but of course Mitch just shrugged it off. Ever after, when Boomer heard the UPS truck (or anything that sounded like it) he'd start barking his special "Mitch" bark and wait at the front door until I let him out. Boomer would go tearing down the sidewalk and meet Mitch at the door of the van. At first, Boomer was too small to jump up into the van. When Mitch came out and saw him, he'd holler "Boomer!" in his big, Booming voice. When Boomer got big enough, he'd jump up into the van and find Mitch in the back looking for a package. Again, I'd hear Mitch yell "Boomer!" from inside the van. I really miss hearing that!! Mitch was a wonderful human being, and we loved him very much. He touched many lives, and I know he was loved by anyone who knew him. We miss you Mitch! God bless, and rest in peace.

I met Mitch only one time at Round Oak and the vivid memory I have of him is his smile and sense of humor. He will certainly be missed and I can tell he accomplished so much during his lifetime and has left an ongoing legacy. Mitch will always remain in your heart. Maryann Roberts Johnson

Mitch was always a smile, family, friend, mentor, and he was my map before GPS was a thing. Such a positive person that made you feel good even when you were down. This was his last ride with UPS and I captured the moment when he rolled into the driveway. Mitch you will be greatly missed but the positive knowledge you gave will be forever with all you touched. Godspeed my friend. My prayers go out to his family through this time but know he will always be with you.

Mitch was the sweetest man, there are no other UPS people that can hold a candle to him. I used to bake a lot and if it was a day for Mitch to make a delivery he always got a sample and when he was just in the neighborhood I would see the truck and pretty much run him down with something special. Missed him after he retired but never thought we would lose him so soon. Prayers go out to his family and all his loved ones. I live in Rhoadesville in Orange County.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Brother Mitch. He was such an inspiration to our choir members at Oak Grove Baptist Church and he will surely be missed. When I think of his big smile and his happy demeanor, I believe God has really taken one of His own angels. I extend my deepest heartfelt sympathy to April and their family. I ask God to bless you in your time of sorrow and keep you in His perfect peace. We needed him, but God needed him more. I'm sure he:'s sitting around the throne with God worshipping, playing his beautiful.music and praising God"s holy name. He"s at peace and not suffering anymore. We will truly miss him. Pastor Mitch Jones, a former pastor that Sheparded us years ago in the store Front church on Rt 1, we still hold find memories of church services held there. We will always behold that laughter and smile and him playing the piano and organ on Wednesdays and Sundays services. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. To the family members, hold on to his precious memories that will take you through lonely times and the comfort in knowing he will always be in your hearts. You will see him again. Prayerfully yours, The Comforts Richmond, VA

Oh heavens this is so sad. Our family loved Mitch. He was so charismatic, always smiling. He learned all of our cars and if he saw us along his route he would pull in where we were and would deliver early to us. He loved my home-maid desserts and pumpkin bread and was even caught driving out of the neighborhood with the foil peeled back bitting into the bread. He stopped Rick to remind him to thank me again. lol! UPS has never been the same since he retired. Our prayers are with his family and all those that knew him. 💕

Heartfelt condolences to the Jones family. Mitch was a wonderful person, demonstrating kindness & the love of Jesus wherever he was led. He was an outstanding UPS employee, going above & beyond to do his job. I so enjoyed when he made deliveries to our home, often asking about my husband’s health & reminding us he was praying for Steve. I believe he was greeted with “well done my good & faithful servant” In Christ, Anita Aleo
