David Wayne Parrish, 62, of Woodford died Friday, June 28, 2024 at VCU Medical Center. David was a member of the Upper Caroline Volunteer Fire Department for about 50 years, having served serval as assistant chief; was the owner of Parrish Construction Company for more than 40 years; worked for the Virginia Forestry Department and was a member of the Clifton Hunt Club and he loved farming his more than 1000 acres, where he raised corn and soybeans. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Lee Parrish. Survivors include his wife, Julie Wright Parrish; daughter, Savannah Parrish; father, Steve M. Parrish, Jr. and his brother, Jeff Parrish. IN lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Upper Caroline Vol. Fire Department, 9344 Stonewall Jackson Road, Woodford, VA  22580. Per David’s wishes he was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
