Gerald Carter

December 27, 1942 - June 19, 2020

U.S. Veteran

Today we mourn the passing and celebrate the life of Gerald Carter. A husband, father, grandfather and friend. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy. During his Naval career, he served two tours in Vietnam. He went on to further serve his country as a DoD Police Officer at NSWC Dahlgren where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant.

The man known as Pop Pop/Granddad to his grandchildren and simply Carter to the rest of us will surely be missed. Carter leaves behind his wife Kathryn of 45 years of marriage. His four children Toy Suon, Dawn Rose, Gary Childress, and Samantha Lindley. Carter also leaves behind his five grandchildren who he adored: Justin, Dillan, Eric, Brittney, and Kathryn. Carter also loved his many pets, his long companion COCO who misses him so much. Fair Winds and Following Seas Shipmate. Sir, your watch has ended and we have the watch from here. God has you now in his loving arms.
