Carol Sue “Susie Shannon
March 2, 1972 - December 9, 2022
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Colonial Beach Baptist Church, 10 Garfield Ave, Colonial Beach, VA 22443 where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2022with Pastor Kenny Daniel officiating.
Burial will follow at Historyland Memorial Park Cemetery, 11227 James Madison Pkwy, King George, VA 22485.
Carol Sue “Susie” Shannon, 50, of Colonial Beach, VA passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at her home. Susie was born March 2, 1972 to Dennis and Carol Shannon. She loved collecting dolphins, cooking, shopping, and dancing while listening to her favorite country music. If she wasn’t spending time with her family, then you could find her cruising around Colonial Beach and spending time with her best friends Roselea, Connie, Doodles, or Georgia. Susie loved her family and friends very much and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her mother Carol Shannon, her four children, Johnny Gutridge (Samantha Carr), Tiffany Gutridge (Blake Sparks), Matthew Griffith (William Davis), and Caylee Rivenbark; her sister, Delores Shannon, her two brothers, Tony and Dennis Shannon, her granddaughter, Isabelle Gutridge, her niece, Katelyn Saunders, and nephews, Chris Shannon, Charlie and Nathan Shanklin.
Susie was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Shannon, niece, Angel Brand, and sister-in-law, Ann Shannon.
