Charlotte Hicks Huddleston entered into heaven October 25, 2023. Charlotte was born on January 29, 1943 in Caretta, West Virginia. As a “Coal Miner’s Daughter to Henry Clay and Elizabeth Hicks, Charlotte graduated from Big Creek High School in War, West Virginia in 1960. Charlotte then moved to Virginia with her family. Over the years, Charlotte obtained incredible knowledge and skills from working at various places, such as Insurance Company, Craddock Terry Shoe Factory, Key Motors car dealership, Seay Milling and machinery, Virginia Department of Health, T/A Truckstop, Jarrell’s Truck Plaza, etc.

Charlotte loved working at Jarrell’s Truckstop the best for she met lots of famous people like Alan Jackson, Elvis Presley, Roy Acuff, Dale Earnhardt, Sr., Richard Petty, Cale Yarbough and many more. Charlotte loved the Spring and Fall seasons for the beauty of the flowers and trees. Sewing, gardening, all types of music and dancing which she called “the Boogie Woogie”. She enjoyed a good cup of black hot coffee to start the mornings, most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She also loved all of her family and the simple life of spending time with loved ones.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Regina “Gina” Taylor, grandchildren, Brian, Matt, Elena and great grandchildren, Madison, Jade, and Hudson; Charlotte’s two sons, Keith Huddleston (Sharon); and grandson, Joshua; son, Joseph Huddleston; three brothers Eugene, Jerry, and Terry Hicks; her two sisters, Phyllis Fields, and Delona Pugh; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Henry Clay Hicks; mother, Elizabeth Hicks; her sisters, Verlie and Jean Hicks, and her brothers, Dean, Martin and Darrell Hicks; and her grandson, Ryan Keith Huddleston.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday, October 30, 2023 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bowling Green.
