David will be buried at Cedar Grove Memorial Park in August. A memorial will take place on April 19, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Round Hill Baptist Church, with a reception to follow.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate David’s life.
David Ray Gruen went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was 67.David was born on October 9, 1954 at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL to his parents, Robert and Jane Gruen. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He married Patricia (Patty) Joan Malone in 1988. He and Patty settled in King George, VA where they raised their daughter, Margaret (Meg). David worked at Dahlgren as a Computer Tester and at Geico in various positions until he retired in 2013.
David was a passionate Christian with a gift for memorizing scripture, even designing his own memory verse program. David loved playing bridge and chess, square dancing, talking on the phone, and watching the original Star Trek.
David is survived by his wife, Patricia; his daughter and son-in-law, Meg and Hollis Pultz; his granddaughter, Hannelore Pultz; his sisters, Barbara Wilks and Kathleen Gruen; and his parents, Robert and Jane Gruen.
