Dorothy Mae Stevens, 77 of Caroline County passed in her home on January 17, 2024. She was laid to rest on January 22, 2024 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Caroline County with the Reverend Louis Woolner officiating. Dorothy was born in Woodford, Va. on April 23, 1946. She was married to her late husband of 59 years, John Wayne Stevens on January 28, 1964 and together they raised two children in Fredericksburg, Va. She graduated from Caroline High School and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her passions for life included dancing, country music, eating crabs, bingo, card playing with her family and last but not least shopping. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Dora Carter and a sister, Anne Sleeman. Dorothy leaves behind her son, John Stevens Jr. and his wife, DeeDee; her daughter, Kathy Stevens; two grandchildren, Samantha and Cody Stevens, with one great grandchild; Haleigh Mae Dotson; several brothers Everett “Junior” Carter, David Carter, Michael Carter and one sister, Linda Wax all of Caroline County.
