Elsie Marie Gutridge Ferrell
May 9, 1935 - April 23, 2021
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 26, from 5-7 pm at Storke Funeral Home, King George Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2 pm at Storke Funeral Home, King George Chapel, with interment to follow at Round Hill Baptist Church.
Elsie Gutridge Ferrell, 85 of King George County, VA departed this life Friday April 23, 2021 at the home of her loving sister Dorothy Gutridge Purks. Elsie was born in King George to Lewis and Doris Gutridge. She graduated from King George High School. Elsie worked for the FMC Plant, King George County, and most recently NSWC Federal Credit Union. She was a life member of the King George Fire Department Auxiliary.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy, who took wonderful care of her; four nieces, Debby Purks Cocke, Harriet Harris Gallahan, Cathryn Andrews and Pam Bollinger Mellick; and four nephews, Kenneth Southard, Harlan Ferrell, Timmy Ferrell and Eddie Bollinger; as well as numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George Vernon Ferrell; her sister Virginia Gutridge Southard, and her parents Lewis and Doris Gutridge.
The family requests that donations in Elsie’s memory be directed to Two Rivers Baptist Church in care of Pastor Peyton Wiltshire, 6420 Rokeby Lane, King George, VA. 22485, or to At Home Care Hospice of Fredericksburg, 1121 Heatherstone Drive, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407.
