Sadie Crews Tuck
April 15, 1931 - August 16, 2022
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday, August 19, 2022 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Concord Baptist Church 15625 Concord Road, Ruther Glen, VA 22546. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sadie Crews Tuck, 91, of Ruther Glen, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Born April 15, 1931 in Halifax, VA to Lewis and Florence Crews, she was the eldest of three daughters. She married the boy next door, Bill Tuck, on November 20th, 1948. Their daughter, Jeannie, was born May 21, 1954. Sadie, Bill, and Jeannie moved from Keysville, VA to Caroline County, VA in October 1959- the place they have called home ever since. Sadie spent most of her working years with Brooks Lumber Company as their bookkeeper, aka Jack-of-all-Trades, in their one-woman office. Sadie enjoyed sewing, yardwork, camping in her younger years, entertaining, and loved to play cards- most notably the game of Setback. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church since 1960 where she served as the social committee chairman and as a Sunday School teacher. Sadie prepared lunch for her family every Sunday after church. She was a feisty, fiery, independent, spitfire of a woman who fiercely loved her family.
Sadie is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Ball (Donnie), her granddaughters, Rachel Jacobus (Jason) and Kathryn Stuckey (Matthew), and great grandson Christopher Jacobus, her youngest sister Linda Martin, nephews Chris Ayers (Abby), Danny Flynn (Sandy), Shane Flynn, nieces Tracey Newcomb (Melvin), and Shanlee Tucker (Ervin), and numerous great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bill, her parents, Lewis and Florence Crews, and her sister, Mary Flynn. A special thanks to the nurses in the VCU Main Hospital 11 West for their nursing care and to the Suncrest Hospice team, especially nurse Ashley.
