Catherine Tracey Hudson Gummer

May 13, 1958 - November 30, 2022

A celebration of Tracey’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 12pm at Hanover Baptist Church, 10312 Hanover Church Rd, King George, VA 22485 with Rev. Rick Crookshank officiating.

Catherine Tracey (Hudson) Gummer, 64, of King George passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, after her battle with cancer. She was born Tuesday, May 13, 1958, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late James Dixon Hudson, Jr. and Mary E. (Breeden) Hagen. Tracey received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She had recently retired from NSWC Dahlgren in August of 2022 as a Configuration Management Lead after working there for 23 years.

Tracey was an avid Redskins football fan. She loved listening to 70’s music, especially Earth, Wind, and Fire, as well as R&B from that era. She enjoyed watching movies on the Hallmark channel. Tracey loved reading and journaling, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children. She also loved to bake and cook, and was a huge animal lover including the love for her many pets over her life. She had many celebrity crushes including Patrick Swayze and Scott Eastwood. Tracey always wanted to visit Tahiti but never got the chance to do so. Her nickname was “T-Ray”. She would want to be remembered for being “Tiny but Mighty”, as how others would often describe her. She was selfless, caring, and always went above and beyond for her family and friends.

Tracey is survived by her two children, Christopher Joshua Gummer and Catherine Hayley Gummer, brothers, James Bradley Hudson and James Dixon Hudson III. She was preceded in death by her parents, her maternal grandmother, Ercell Breeden, and step-father, James Hagen.

A celebration of Tracey’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 12pm at Hanover Baptist Church, 10312 Hanover Church Rd, King George, VA 22485 with Rev. Rick Crookshank officiating.
