Elaine Ferebee Osburn

June 23, 1954 - June 11, 2024

A Celebration of Life will be held in Bowlers Wharf at the family home on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider Aylett Country Day School, P.0. Box 70, Millers Tavern, Virginia 23115.

Elaine Ferebee Osburn, 69, of Bowlers Wharf, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024.  Elaine was born in Midlothian, Virginia on June 23, 1954 to George Shelton Ferebee and the late Joan Joyce Ferebee.  After graduating from Collegiate High School, she attended Salem College, then received her bachelor’s degree from University of Richmond.  Together, she and her husband established Tennis Courts, Inc. which they successfully operated for over 48 years.  Elaine loved traveling with family and friends, especially to St. Croix and Europe.  She will be fondly remembered for her love of family and contributions she made to the community.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Herbert Booker Osburn; her children Cammie Osburn Vaughan (Brackett) of Warsaw and Herbert Booker Osburn, Jr. (Emily) of Tappahannock; her five grandchildren J.B. Vaughan V, Parker Vaughan, Averil Vaughan, Susannah Osburn, and Louisa Osburn.  In addition to her father, she is survived by two brothers; George S. Ferebee, Jr. of Tappahannock and Michael W. Ferebee (Rhonda) of Newport, NC; in-laws Rebecca Sisson (Larry) and Robert B. Osburn, Jr. (Betty) of Tappahannock; and a host of close nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
