John Wayne Stevens Sr., 77 of Caroline County passed in his home on Saturday May 6, 2023. He was laid to rest on Thursday May 11, 2023, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Caroline County, with the Reverend Jack Bailey, pastor Hopewell UMC officiating. Wayne was born in Milford, VA on October 30, 1945. He married his beloved wife, of 59 years Dorothy Mae Stevens on January 28, 1964, and together they raised two children in Fredericksburg, VA. He graduated from Caroline County High School and retired from Dahlgren Naval Base. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His passions included Country Music, Dancing, Nascar, The Washington Commanders, eating steamed crabs, telling jokes, and making people smile. He was a member of both the Fredericksburg Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4123 for 30 years and Fredericksburg Moose Lodge 1655 for 31 years. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents John and Florence Stevens, and his sister Jeannette Dean Dillon. Wayne leaves behind his wife; the love of his life, Dorothy Stevens, his son John Stevens Jr and his wife DeeDee, his daughter Kathy Stevens and two grandchildren Samantha and Cody Stevens.
