Lora Newton Hayes, 71, of Mechanicsville, originally of Colonial Beach, VA passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.  Lora was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Lois Newton.  She is survived by her daughters, Naomi (Jason) Austin and Myria Rolan (Alan Wilcox); grandchildren, Jacob Rolan, Savanna Austin, David Owens, and Walker Austin; great granddaughter Cosmina Rolan; sister Susan (Steve) Woodzell; her best friends, Carol Massey and Sandra Loving; and numerous extended family members.

Lora was a longtime member of Cool Springs Baptist Church and loved working with the children throughout the years.  She was an avid supporter of the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and their annual walk.  Above all she loved her family, who will miss her dearly.

A graveside service will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oak Grove, VA at 11am on Friday, January 13, 2023.
