Ricky O. Meador

October 14, 1962 - October 27, 2023

The family will receive friends at the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral Home on Saturday, November 4th from 6:00–8:00pm. A funeral will follow on Sunday, November 5th at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caroline County Little League.

Ricky O. Meador, 61 of Milford passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, October 27, 2023. Born in Beckley, West Virginia to Herbert and Lucretia Meador. He was a 1980 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, where after he attended West Virginia Tech. “Rick” was an employee of VSC Fire and Security for over 30 years. He was described as a beloved, respected coworker. He was known for being a mentor and hard worker his entire life. Being outdoors brought him peace, whether it be gardening, junking, or most recently his favorite pastime project of building a treehouse with his grandchildren. His grandchildren will remember him as their #1 fan of all their sports activities as he spent most of his free time at the ballfield with friends and family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of who he shared 42 years with, Connie Meador; his three girls, Ashley Chenault (Randy); Monica Rozell (Blake) and Kelsey Meador; his grandchildren, Tinsley, Chesney, Hadley, Hunter, Ridge, Emery, Hudson, Hank, Gentry and looking forward to his 10th grandchild expected in the spring; his sisters, Dena Hensley and Dreama Moon; his brothers, Herbert Meador II (Phyllis) and Randy Meador (Josie) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lucretia Meador, as well as friend and family member, Michael Williams.

Over the years he became known as “PopPaw” to all of those who knew him personally. His family and friends will remember him as a man of few words with his sly sense of humor, who loved and cherished his time with them.
